The Imperator was Horex's overhead-cam parallel twin, first shown as a 500 and then sold from 1954 in a smaller 400 class with around 26 hp. It was offered with either telescopic forks or a leading-link front end and rode on 18-inch wheels. It sat above the Regina singles as the sporting flagship of the Bad Homburg range.
